Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti signed mandate letters on the implementation of a number of large-scale projects in the field of modernization of water supply systems in the country's regions totaling more than $300 million, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek Ministry.

Umurzakov met with the President of the EBRD within the framework of the annual meeting of Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on May 9, 2019.

Welcoming the Head of the Uzbek delegation, President Chakrabarti noted the significant progress in relations with Uzbekistan, achieved over the past two years, largely due to fundamental reforms and innovations in the country's economic model.

“Topical issues of current cooperation and prospects for expanding the project portfolio and priority areas for further interaction were also discussed during the conversation”, reads the message.

Furthermore, issues related to the organization and holding a meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors in June of this year and the possible participation of the bank’s management in the Tashkent International Investment Forum in the fall of this year were touched upon as well.
