Foreign trade of Iran's Kordestan Province up by 12%

The foreign trade turnover of Iran's Kordestan Province has increased by 12 percent last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), when compared to the preceding year, Bakhtiyar Khaleqi, deputy chairman for trade of Kordestan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Khaleqi, last year the volume of the province’s foreign trade turnover made up 4.01 million tons worth $6.89 billion. He added that there was a 4-percent increase in terms of weight in the trade turnover.

"Last year, the total exports of Kordestan Province stood at 1.97 million tons, worth $1.98 billion," he said. According to Khaleqi, the export of goods increased by 42 percent in terms of weight and 85 percent in terms of dollar value, when compared to the preceding year.

In this period, products worth $46 million were imported; the imports dropped by 79 percent in terms of weight and 34 percent in terms of value.

"Last year, 2,02 million tons of goods worth $4.83 billion were transited through Kordestan Province," Khaleqi said. in his words, the transit of products through the province dropped by 16 percent in terms of weight and by 3 percent in terms of value, when compared to the preceding year.
