Uzbekistan to co-op in textile industry with Mississippi State

A delegation from Mississippi state (the USA) expressed interest in establishing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan in the textile industry, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

"Uztextile" Association held a meeting with the delegation of the State of Mississippi with participation of Commissioner for Agriculture and Trade of the State Andy Gipson, President of SilverLeafe LCC William D. Patterson and representative of SilverLeafe LCC in Uzbekistan U.Bekniyozov.

The Uzbek side acquainted the guests with the activities of the Association, potential of domestic manufacturers and prospects for doing business in Uzbekistan. Presentations of the textile and garment and knitwear industry of the country were also held. At the meeting, the achievements of Uzbek enterprises in the production of knitted and trouser clothes using local cotton were noted.

In turn, the head of the American delegation Gipson emphasized the special interest of the state government in establishing long-term mutually beneficial business relations in the textile industry.

During the talks, issues of introducing the experience and advanced technologies of the United States into the cotton and textile industry of Uzbekistan were discussed. Moreover, the issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the textile industry with the Mississippi State Administration were substantively examined.

At the end of the meeting, president of SilverLeafe LCC Petterson announced that the company management is ready to support a pilot project for clothing production according to a given specification at manufacturing enterprises in Uzbekistan.
