Five hundreds new Iranian projects to be launched in Iraq

"Last year, Iran exported to Iraq goods worth $20 million, but we expect decline in April," said Seyyed Hamid Hosseini, the Chairman of the Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce, at a joint Iran-Iraq meeting on Wednesday, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He went on to announce exports to Iraq at the end of April amounted to $ 389 million.

"Since beginning of the year (started on March 21) to May 14, we had $ 576 million worth of exports to Iraq, as we are trying to compensate the April exports figures,” he added.

In his words, earlier. the Iraqi government announced that implementation of unfinished technical projects in this country was renewed. The Chairman of the Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce said that there are more than 80 Iranian engineering companies in Iraq.

“We have engineering contracts worth $ 4 billion in Iraq, out of which only projects worth $ 1.2 billion were active in recent years,” he noted. “With the new Iraq's decision, finances for the remaining contracts will be paid and technical engineering services will increase.”

Hosseini also announced that 500 new Iranian projects to be launched in Iraq.
