The agricultural output value stood at 1.28 billion manats in Azerbaijan in January-April 2019, which is by 3.9 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports referring to a report by Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.
In the reported period, livestock production rose by 2.9 percent and amounted to 1.2 billion manats, while plant growth increased by 22.2 percent reaching 78.3 million manats.
In January-April 2019, Azerbaijan produced 166,100 tons of meat, 649,500 tons of milk, 597,800,000 eggs and 2,300 tons of wool. Compared to January-April 2018, meat production increased by 3 percent, milk production by 2.1 percent, while the production of eggs and wool rose by 1.8 percent and by 45.3 percent, respectively.
Some 91,600 tons of vegetables were also grown during the aforementioned period, which is 3 percent more than the same period last year.
Currently, preparatory activities are being carried out for planting summer crops in the orchards, vineyards and agricultural fields.
