The Azerbaijani company Food Trade, which imports food products from Lithuania, plans to increase sales of dairy products of the Svalya brand in the domestic market, a source in the company told Trend.

The company sells about 10-12 tons of Lithuanian-made products each month, according to the source.

"We plan to increase the import volumes of various varieties of Lithuanian products in order to sell them more on the local market," the source noted. "Almost all varieties of dairy products are in great demand in Azerbaijan, especially cheese products. This type of food products belongs to premium class, and accordingly, it is more expensive in price than local products. However, the demand for Svalya products is quite high in different seasons of the year."

The source added that last year, Lithuanian foodstuffs sales volumes were stable.

"This year, compared with the figures for 2018, sales increased by 10 percent," the source said. "By the end of the year, we intend to increase this figure to 15-20 percent."
