The eighth meeting of the Uzbek-Swiss Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
Representatives of relevant ministries and departments, as well as more than 25 representatives of Swiss companies and banks attended the meeting.
As a result, a number of bilateral agreements were signed to strengthen cooperation in the banking sector, i.e. the opening of additional export credit lines, as well as the implementation of new joint projects in tourism, industry, agriculture and education.
As part of the intergovernmental dialogue, the positive dynamics of growth in commodity turnover, strengthening the position of Swiss business in the country and the growing interest of European business circles in the implementation of new ideas and initiatives in Uzbekistan were noted.
In this regard, the Swiss government expressed its readiness to support Uzbekistan in the framework of accession to the WTO.
