The utilization of the Caspian area potential is among cooperation priorities of Central Asia countries, Trend reports via Casp-Geo.
Kazakhstan believes that in order to improve the trade and investment cooperation of Central Asia countries the active utilization of the existing railway routes connecting these counties, as well as the coordination of the optimal tariff policy on organizing the railway transit transportation is necessary.
“The Nurly Zhol program realization in Kazakhstan, as well as the completion of the West Europe- West China international road transit corridor will allow for the creation of the effective East – West route via utilization of the Kazakhstan territory. In line with other international projects, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, this will allow to attract prospective cargo traffic from countries of Asia and of Europe, as well as to launch a new direct transit route for export goods and cargo of countries of the area,” the report said.
Today, the territory of Kazakhstan possesses logistics centers such as Aktau, Kuryk, Bautino port of the Caspian Sea, as well as Khorgos Eastern Gates dry port. The increase of the economy and transport potential of the area is also supported by the formation and development of Central Asian route of the South-North transport transit corridor, which connects regions of Europe, Russia with countries of the Persian Gulf and of South Asia.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan claims the necessity to maximize the potential of the historically connected transport routes of Central Asia with aligned policy. The creation of Intergovernmental consulting and coordinating body with the participation of all countries of Southern and Central Asia, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and India is to support the maximization.
