In January-March 2019 the volume of exported wheat and meslin from Kazakhstan amounted to 1.7 million tons, which is 3.1 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports via LS news agency.
The total volume of exported wheat equaled $297.8 million. Furthermore, the export revenue stood at 18.2 percent.
The major part of the export accounts for export to Uzbekistan (622.9 tons worth $96.3 million).
Some 252,500 tons of seed worth $46.4 million were exported to Tajikistan, 195,400 tons worth $37 million to Azerbaijan, 106,100 tons worth $19.5 million to Afghanistan, some 83,400 tons worth $16.9 million to China, 79,100 tons worth $14.2 million to Turkmenistan, 71,500 tons worth $13.9 million to Italy.
Furthermore, Turkey purchased 70.600 tons of wheat worth $11.9 million, whereas Russia bought 53,100 tons worth $11.4 million.
In turn, the volume of flour exported from Kazakhstan equaled 419,400 tons worth $89.2 million. Thus, the decrease of volume is 33 percent, whereas the decrease of value is 25.3 percent compared to the same period of last year.
The main purchasers of Kazakh flour are Afghanistan (261,900 tons worth $58.2 million) and Uzbekistan (104,600 tons worth $18.4 million).
