The construction of a Peugeot automobile plant has been halted in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh city, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.
The agreement on creation of Uzbekistan Peugeot Citroen Automotive private limited company was signed by Uzavtosanoat and French company Peugeot Citroen Automobiles S.А in May 2017.
Rustan Kadyrov, the Head of the Strategic Planning Department of Uzavtosanoat, company said the question is beyond his competence. However, he noted that the halt is related to implementation of the bilateral arrangement and is connected to the French company.
“The plant was being constructed within the Jizzakh free economic zone. Originally, the registered capital of construction amounted to 29.3 million euro,” the news report statement said.
