Uzbekistan wants to increase trade with Belarus by 6 times

The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus can increase approximately six times over three years from the current $145 million to $ 1 billion, Trend reports via Belarussian media.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev talked on this during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan wants to increase the supply of passenger cars and fabrics to Belarus.

A wide range of passenger cars is produced in Uzbekistan, together with General Motors. Now rebranding is being carried out, and it is supplemented with new models.

Uzbekistan is also interested in trade with Belarus in textiles.

Vice prime minister believes that trade can reach $1 billion in the next three years. The governments of the heads of both countries aim at this figure.

At the moment, the bilateral trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan slightly exceeds $145 million.

Now the parties are addressing issues of product certification, the solution of which would also increase the turnover.

Uzbekistan is also interested in organizing a simplified customs control mechanism for the supply of fruits and vegetables.
