Georgian ministry changes forecast for electricity imports

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia has reduced the forecast for electricity imports, Trend reports via bizzone.info.

Compared to estimated 2.8 billion kWh of the balance approved at the end of last year for 2019, the new forecast was reduced to 1.6 billion kWh.

Thus, compared to the previous year the import in 2019 will increase, approximately by seven percent.

Revision of the forecast was done due to reduced consumption this year.

The volume of electricity export is reduced in the new balance from 696 million kWh to 426 million kWh.

As for the total supply of electricity to consumers, the forecast decreased from 14.2 billion kWh to 13.3 billion kWh.
