Over 1.6 million tons of wheat have been harvested from 760,000 hectares of land in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The farmers of Ahal region of the country handed over more than 450,000 tons of grain to the state, farmers of Mary region harested more than 380,000 tons of grain, Lebap region - more than 350,000 tons, Dashoguz region - more than 300,000 tons, and Balkan region - more than 120,000 tons of wheat.
About 2,000 combine harvesters "CLAAS", "John Deere", "Case", and "New Holland" were involved in the harvesting.
For the production of wheat, the Turkmen state provides farmers with seeds, mineral fertilizers and the means to combat pests on concessional terms.
