Japanese brand Uniqlo may soon appear in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Uztextileprom Association.
At the moment, negotiations on the company possible entry to the Uzbek market are underway.
"On July 9, managers of the Uztekstilprom Association met with representatives of the Japanese brand Uniqlo (Fast Retailing) in Tokyo in order to establish bilateral relations with the leading brands of Japan," reads the message.
The Japanese company was informed about the reforms in the textile industry of Uzbekistan. It was particularly noted that Japanese technological equipment is installed at Uzbek enterprises.
Uniqlo representatives were invited to Uzbekistan Textile Conference to be held as part of Global Textile Days Tashkent 2019 on September 11-13.
Currently, Uniqlo manufactures its clothing in China, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
