Kazakhstan eyes new construction projects

A number of projects, including a ‘green’ one were proposed in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, Trend reports with reference to press office of the akimat (administrative center) of the region.

The project proposals were made during the meeting of Deputy Governor of Karaganda region Aidarov Almas and the leadership of the Saryarka SEZ managing company with potential investors.

Thus, the Ret company is planning to realize manufacturing of coke briquettes on the territory of SEZ. This project is unique due to the face the heat and electricity will be manufactured at the same time.

“The technology is environmentally friendly and will not produce any harmful emissions. The launch of the project is planned in two stages and its realization will allow to attract 30 billion tenge of investments into the economy of the region. Furthermore the project will create 150 new workplaces. There is no such manufacturing in the country,” the report said.

Furthermore, the Saryarka Led is planning to construct LED lamps and street light columns plant worth 70 billion tenge of investments. The realization of the project will create up to 50 new work places.

The representatives of ARCUS Invest company, which already is a part of SEZ presented a construction plan of a plant for manufacturing of spare parts for railway machinery. The investments into the project will amount to 2.4 billion tenge and over 60 new work places will be created.

Saryarka SEZ was created in November 2011 and is one of the growth points of the region’s economy. SEZ is to be in operation till December 2036. The benefits of SEZ is developed infrastructure, preferential tax and utility rates.
