Iran exports 1.65M tons of products via customs of Kermanshah Province

Some 1.65 million tons of products worth $739 million were exported through the customs of Iran’s western Kermanshah Province during the 4 months (March 1 - July 22) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Director General of Kermanshah Customs Administration Khalil Heydari told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to him, export of goods via the provincial customs decreased by 8 percent in terms of value and 1 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period of the previous year.

He added that 756,000 tons of products worth $422 million were exported through the Parvizkhan customs. This figure increased by 32 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year.

Moreover, 316,000 tons of products worth $123 million were exported through the Sumar border market. This figure shows that exports decreased by 68 percent in terms of value and 28 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year

The customs official also said that 188,000 tons of products worth $82 million were exported through the Sheykh Salleh customs, which shows that exports increased by 69 percent in terms of value and 159 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year.

He added that 339,000 tons of products worth $98 million were exported through the Khosravi customs. Exports rose by 261 percent in terms of value and 198 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year.

It was further noted that 86,000 tons of products worth $13.6 million were exported through the Shushmi border market during the said period. This indicates a 12-percent decrease in terms of value and a 51-percent decrease in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year.

"Mostly agricultural, food, industrial and mining products were exported through the customs of Kermanshah Province," he said.

Kermanshah Province has 6 official border customs and border markets with Iraq. Almost half of Iran’s annual non-oil exports to Iraq are transported via Kermanshah Province.
