Uzbekistan is interested in organizing direct deliveries of Belarusian agricultural products certified in accordance with Halal requirements (everything that is allowed in Islam), Trend reports citing the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology (BSIM).

The issues of agricultural product quality control and compliance with the Halal certificate were discussed on August 5 during a visit of Uzbek delegation to the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology.

As a result of negotiations with BSIM management, agreements were reached on pre-shipment inspection by BSIM technical auditors of all products that will be sent to one of the largest trading network in Uzbekistan.

During the visit to Belarus, representatives of Uzbekistan also plan to hold talks with a number of Belarusian meat and dairy industry enterprises on the supply of products.

The international accreditation of the certification body LLC BelHalal and the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology was completed at the end of last year. At present, the certification body BelHalal is listed in the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).
