Investments in Iran’s West Azerbaijan up by 209%

Investments in the industrial sector of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province increased by 209 percent over the first four months (March 21 - July 22) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province Masoom Ali Akbari said, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

According to him, licenses have been issued for the creation of a total of 188 industrial enterprises in four months, and investments to be made to these enterprises total at 7.52 trillion rials (app. $179 million).

Ali Akbari added that the issuing of these licenses will lead to the provision of jobs to 3,460 people.

“This year, licenses have been issued for the commissioning of a total of 39 industrial enterprises, with 652 billion rials (app. $15.5 million) of investments, which shows an increase of 117 percent [in the issuing of licenses] compared to the same period of the previous [Iranian] year,” he said.

Ali Akbari noted that 377 people were provided with jobs with the commissioning of these industrial enterprises.
