Russian companies are working with the Uzbek Fergana region administration on 64 projects worth about $100 million, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

On August 7, a two-day international investment forum opened in Fergana. About 100 business representatives from 27 countries participate in it.

"At the moment, we are working on 64 projects with Russian companies with a total value of about $100 million," Deputy Governor of the region Mukhsinhoja Abdurakhmanov said within the framework of the forum.

He added that the $100 million investment from Russia is on the second place after the volume of attracted investments from China.

Abdurakhmanov said that the most active business contacts of enterprises in the Fergana region are maintained with partners from Russian Bashkiria, the Vologda and Orenburg regions, as well as the Perm Territory.

In particular, partners from Orenburg are planning a poultry cluster worth $55 million, the deputy head of the region noted.

"These figures already speak for themselves - the presence of Russian business in the Fergana region is palpable," Abdurakhmanov added.

The long-term list also includes projects in the textile industry, the electrical industry, and the processing of agricultural products.
