Gold reserves increase in Kazakhstan

The volume of gold reserves in Kazakhstan increased by 8.3 percent during seven months of 2019 and amounted to 375.3 tons, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

Thus, during the reporting period, the volume of the precious metal in Kazakhstan has increased by almost 30 tons, allowing Kazakhstan to keep its 15th position among other counties by reserves volume.

The leaders by the gold reserves traditionally are US and Germany with volume of 8,130 tons and 3,370 tons respectively.

Furthermore, during the reporting period, the volume of gold reserves has significantly increased in Russia (+6.8 percent, amounted to 2,200 tons), India (+4.4 percent, amounted to 612.2 tons) and China (+4.3 percent, equaled 1,920 tons).

In turn, the largest decrease of reserves is observed in Portugal. The volume of the gold in the country has decreased by 61 percent during the reporting period and amounted to 382.2 tons in August compared to 982.5 tons in January.

The gold reserves volume of other countries did not change significantly or did not change at all.
