Uzbekistan is world’s most active gold seller

Uzbekistan sold 10.9 tons of gold and became the most active gold seller in June 2019, Trend reports citing a review of the World Gold Council.

Argentina is on the second place (6.8 tons), read the message.

In June of this year, the Central banks of countries of the world increased their reserves by 126.5 tons of gold. As reported, for the first half of 2019, the volume of gold reserves in Central banks around the world increased by 396.9 tons, read the message.

“In January-June 2019, Poland acquired the largest amount of gold - 99.55 tons. Almost all of this amount was purchased in June. Thus, the country's gold reserves rose to 228.2 tons,” the report said.

The second place in terms of procurement is held by Russia with 93.96 tons per six months, of which 16.9 tons were purchased in June. The total gold reserve of the Central Bank of Russia is estimated at 2,207 tons as of early August 2019, read the message.

“China purchased 74 tons of gold in six months, 10-15 tons per month. The total reserves of China's state gold are estimated at 1,927 tons,” the World Gold Council reported.

Turkey is increasing its gold reserves. The country acquired more than eight tons of gold and increased its reserves to 314.1 tons in June, read the message.

The World Gold Council is an organization created in 1987 by the world's major gold producers to stimulate demand for gold. Currently, members of the World Gold Council are companies, which account for about 60 percent of global gold mining and production.
