The idea to develop 1,000 hectares of abandoned land in Uzbekistan’s Navoi region by implementing Indian technology has been proposed, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

“As a result, the water from underground will be raised by 700 meters via solar energy,” the report said.

The proposal has been made during the meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshyd Khodzhayev and the Executive Director of Indian Shakti Pumps Ltd Ramesh Patidar, during which the issues of using new technology on the base of solar energy in irrigation and land development of Uzbekistan have been discussed.

“As a result of deterioration of condition of irrigation and land development of Uzbekistan, the use of cost-effective and modern technologies is necessary in developing abandoned land,” the report said.
