Iran to increase trade with Caspian Sea states

Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Head of Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) has indicated the country's capacities to develop trade with Caspian Sea states, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Mohammad Bagher Ali talked about the country's mine, industry and trade infrastructure capacities at the First Caspian Economic Forum in Turkmenistan. The Iranian official also spoke about the development of trade ties between Iran and its neighbor countries, particularly the Caspian Sea states.

The deputy minister has expressed willingness to improve trade with Caspian Sea states in industry, agriculture, new technology, energy, tourism and other fields. He underlined the necessity to boost cooperation between Iran's special free zones and other countries including implementation of joint plans and investments.

"The First Caspian Economic Forum has prepared a platform for drafting the economic trade agreement to be signed by five Caspian Sea nations," he said.

The Iranian official attended the meetings of the ministers of economy and transport of the Caspian littoral states on the sidelines of the forum.

The First Caspian Economic Forum was held in Turkmenistan’s Avaza tourist zone on August 11-12, 2019.
