Georgia's domestic debt increases

The state debt of Georgia reached 3.43 billion lari as of July 31, 2019, which is 235.4 million lari more than in January 2019, Trend reports with reference to bpn.ge.

In January 2019, the state debt of Georgia amounted to 3.20 billion lari. As of end of July, the value of debt securities amounted to 3.02 billion lari, and other government securities – to 410.84 million lari.

Part of Georgia’s domestic public debt is denominated in national currency. This is a set of principal amounts resulting from unfulfilled direct obligations under a contract concluded on behalf of the state.

The forms of internal public debt include government securities, loans taken by the relevant executive authorities from the National Bank and resident credit institutions, and other debt obligations.
