By Fakhri Vakilov- Trend:

Uzbekistan, China and Tajikistan plan to launch a new transport corridor along Termez–Dushanbe–Kashgar route, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek Ministry of Transport.

The ministry states that the first test caravan of six trucks, two from each country, was sent along this route. The total length of the new transport corridor is 1,422 kilometers.

The main goal of the road is to increase the flow of goods from China to Central Asia and vice versa.

In addition, the development of this route will provide another alternative option for the delivery of goods from Uzbekistan through the ports of China for export to other countries.

In September last year, Uzbek-Chinese joint venture Silk Road International launched transportation of goods along Tashkent - Andijan - Osh - Irkeshtam - Kashgar route.
