Exports volume on Uzbek Commodity Exchange almost doubles

The total volume of exports through electronic trading on the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UZEX) for seven months of this year amounted to $90.3 million, which is 47 percent more than in the same period in 2018, Trend reports with reference to UZEX.

The share of cotton fiber in the export structure was 49 percent, polyethylene - 27 percent, petroleum products - 14 percent and liquefied gas - 8 percent.

The rest of the market was occupied by polypropylene, cottonseed oil, cottonseed meal and laundry soap.

As for the results of the work of the territorial branches of UZEX this year, there is a positive trend in all areas.

In January-July 2019, deals in the amount of 571.5 billion soums were concluded in the Namangan branch of UZEX, with an increase of 56.7 percent. The volume of exhibition and fair trade increased by 12 percent and amounted to 148.9 billion soums.

Transactions in the amount of 1.3 trillion soums were made in the Fergana branch of UZEX, which is 28.2 percent more than in January-July 2018.

Furthermore, the branch registered export transactions worth almost $ 2 million.
