Over 6M lari allocated for construction of bypass road in Bakuriani, Georgia

European Investment Bank has allocated more than 6 million lari for the project on construction of bypass road in Bakuriani, a skiing resort in the Borjomi district of Georgia, Trend reports referring to Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

The engineering work on the project was performed by Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the ministry. The construction of the three-kilometer road has been completed, and its infrastructure is being built.

Due to the lack of a bypass road in Bakuriani, traffic jams, which often occurred, hindered the safe and comfortable movement of tourists and local residents. As reported, the construction of the road will completely solve the problem.

Georgi Shengelia, Executive Director of MDF, and Besik Amiranashvili, Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti, got acquainted with the work.

In addition to the bypass road, the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing numerous important infrastructure projects in Bakuriani. They include the construction of a three-kilometer road and a parking lot in Didveli skiing area of Bakuriani, the construction of a central road and a parking lot on the bypass road, and upgrading the infrastructure of the city park.

In total, the investments of MDF in Bakuriani have amounted to 55 million lari.
