Uzbekistan, China expect to bring trade turnover to $8 B by end of year

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in Beijing on an official visit, held talks with Vice President of China Wang Qishan, Trend reports citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.

"During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral relations and prospects for their further strengthening. It was noted that regular Uzbek-Chinese contacts at the highest level are a solid foundation for accelerated development of cooperation in all areas," the press service reported.

The parties noted a steady growth trend in mutual trade turnover. In 2018, China became the largest foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan. By the end of this year, bilateral trade is expected to reach $8 billion.

Proposals for cooperation in the investment sphere and issues related to developing transport and communication ties, expanding direct ties between the regions of the two countries, and supporting cultural and humanitarian exchanges were also discussed.
