Tehran, Iran, Aug.22

Trend:

Iran seeks to improve exports to neighbor countries; however, the plan needs to become more specific, Head of Agriculture and Water Commission in Iran Chamber of Commerce Ali Shariati told Trend.

"The function Chamber of Commerce is to facilitate the trade, but the plan is not certain. The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade should specify the increase, but they are not specific about the road map," he said.

"The Ministry is active in four fields including exports, and it is not a suitable approach. The budget is in the hands of the government and no direction has been announced about increase of exports to neighbor countries. The clear destination is left to us," he added.

"Nothing has happened to improve the export situation. We are trying not to lose former markets due to the sanctions and have no outlook for achieving new markets," he noted.

He went on to say: "We should see how much we have traded with the Persian gulf countries such as the Emirates and Qatar, and monitor the import of Iranian goods to Iraq and Afghan markets, which are most important export destinations."

Touching upon the issue on the exports of agriculture products to Iraq, he noted: "The market does not have significant changes. Financial transaction with Iraq is in its former state."

"it means that there are neither new limitations nor any specific revelation in this field," he said.
