By Fakhri Vakilov -Trend:

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan did not introduce a complete ban on the export of cattle from the country due to the high demand in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

According to the deputy minister of Kazakhstan Gulmira Isayeva, such a decision was made in order not to deprive farmers of the opportunity to sell livestock at a better price, as it goes to import at 30 percent more expensive than it is sold on the Kazakh market.

However, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan will nevertheless introduce small restrictions and the farmers will be banned from selling their breeding stock abroad, the report said.

Earlier it was proposed to completely ban the export of livestock from Kazakhstan abroad. This was conditioned by the fact that the demand for Kazakh cattle in Uzbekistan increased sharply. It triggered a massive export from the country of not only livestock for slaughter, but also a breeding stock, the purchase of which was subsidized by Kazakh state.

In the first half of 2019, 62,500 cattle were exported from Kazakhstan, and 51,000 of them to Uzbekistan.
