Dutch company may co-op with Uzbekistan in meat production

The Dutch consulting company VetEffect may work with Uzbekistan in the production of meat and meat and dairy products in certain regions of the country, in particular in Fergana, Trend reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Hakimov with VetEffect Project Manager Remco Schrijver on August 21, 2019 in Belgium.

The parties decided on the priority issues of interaction in the production of meat and meat and dairy products in certain regions of Uzbekistan under the national project "Financial inclusion in support of sustainable development of the livestock sector in Uzbekistan".

This project is being implemented as part of the EU grant of €15 million, allocated under a concessional loan from the French Development Agency in the amount of €150 million.

VetEffecT has been established in 2006. It is an international agribusiness, sustainable animal production, animal health and welfare, sanitary and phytosanitary safety, food safety and One Health consultancy company. It has expertise in building institutional, ministerial and private sector capacities, providing technical assistance in the field and conducting research and sector assessments.

The company and its associated experts have completed agribusiness, food production and animal health development projects in Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle-East and Central and South Asia.
