Members of Iran’s new mining consortium revealed

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) has announced the members of a new mining consortium in Iran, said IMIDRO Managing Director Khodadad Gharibpour, Trend reports with reference to the IMIDRO website.

He said that the consortium includes Gol Gohar, Chadormalu mining and Industrial Company, Mines and Metals Development Investment Company (MMDIC), Saba Nour, Gohar Zamin, Ghadir International Mines and Industries Development Company, Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khouzestan Steel Company, MIDHCO, Esfahan Steel Company and Sadr Tamin Investment Company.

He added that according to the program, the consortium will carry out mining exploration at the territory of 100,000 square kilometers of the total area of 300,000 square kilometers.

IMIDRO launched exploration at the territory of 270,000 square kilometers in 2014. This area has been extended by 70,000 square kilometers since the end of 2018 until August 2019. By the decision of Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Reza Rahmani, the exploration program has been extended by 300,000 square kilometers. Thus, over the past five years, Iran’s exploration area has reached 640,000 square kilometers.
