Trend:

The new political approach of Iran and the Untied Arab Emirates to reduce tension and preserve region's security can increase trade volume in future, said expert in Iran's Trade Promotion Organization.

"Considering the new approach taken by officials of two countries, the trade volume outlook in current Iranian year [started March 21, 2019] shall increase, although we have to see for how long the positive trend wil last,” said Masoud Taheri Mehr, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Iran's non-oil exports to the Emirates has dropped 11 percent by the end of last Iranian [(started March 21, 2018]," he added.

“Dispatch of trade consultants to other countries, especially to neighbor countries, has always been important part of government plans to improve foreign trade. The presence of Iran's consultant in the UAE shall serve the same goal; however, everything depends on continuation of relations and so far, no particular decision has been made to send the consultant to this country," he said.

"The statistics show that Iran's trade with the UAE exceeded $11 billion during last Iranian year and Iran's trade balance was positive with $6 billion of exports," he noted.

"The major part of Iran's exports was sent to the Emirates, while part of it was re-exported to other countries from UAE. The Emirates also was the intermediary for Iran to import goods from other countries," he added.
