Over 500 MW of renewable energy sources to be put into operation in Kazakhstan

Four projects worth $217 million were launched in Kazakhstan in cooperation with National Company Kazakh Invest in 1H2019, Trend reports with reference to the company.

During the reporting period, the construction of 12 projects worth $1.7 billion was launched and another 34 projects worth $7.1 billion have entered the active phase of implementation.

“The company is planning to launch 30 projects worth $2 billion and to launch construction works within 35 projects worth $4 billion this year,” the report said.

“Almost 40 percent of the projects account for new areas of economy such as renewable energy sources and information and communication technologies,” the statement said.

According to the information, the company is planning to put into operation 400 MW of solar plants, 90 MW of wind farms and 25 MW of hydropower plants. Total cost of the plants, which are to be put into operation, equals $680 billion.
