The results of August 2019 showed that the price level in the services sector of Uzbekistan rose in price by 5.6 percent, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In general, in January-August 2019, services increased in price by 11.5 percent.

In annual terms (August 2019 compared to August 2018), services have become more expensive by 18.6 percent.

The long-term consumer price index, calculated by December 2017, for services amounted to 129.1 percent.

According to the calculation results, the average monthly increase in the consumer price index from January 2018 to August 2019 for services amounted to 1.3 percent.

Over the period since the beginning of 2019, the increase in tariffs in August of this year was the maximum.

The key inflationary factor in services was the increase in tariffs for housing and communal services. The direct impact of tariff growth in this area added about 0.97 percentage points to the inflation rate for the month.

In addition to housing and communal services, which have become 16 percent more expensive in the past month, tariff increases that exceed the one percent threshold are also registered for passenger transport services (4.6 percent), domestic services (1.6 percent), and services of sports institutions (1.2 percent).

The direct inflationary impact of the increase in regulated tariffs for the month amounted to about 1.03 percentage points. The effect of "indirect" influence is expected in subsequent periods due to an increase in costs in the production and sale of goods.
