Azerbaijani company reveals progress of road reconstruction project in Kyrgyzstan

Azerbaijani construction company AzVIRT is completing the first stage of the road project for the reconstruction of the Bishkek-Osh road in Kyrgyzstan, a source in the company told Trend.

This includes reconstruction of the road with a total length of 67 km, according to the source.

“The project cost is $41 million and it is funded by the Eurasian Bank. The project will be completed by 2022,” the company added.

“In the coming days, excavation work on certain sections of the road, as well as drainage work, should be completed,” said the source. “Around the second half of September, asphalt laying will begin.”

The source noted that the company is also implementing two major road projects in Serbia and Ukraine. The projects shall be completed two and three years respectively. Currently, these are the three largest projects of the company, which are being implemented outside Azerbaijan.
