Uzbekistan, Turkey to jointly develop cargo transportation from China through Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Turkish State Railways (TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ Genel Müdürlüğü) have agreed on close cooperation in the field of cargo transportation, Trend reports citing the press service of the ministry.
The agreement was reached at the meeting at the Ministry attended by the Director General of the Turkish State Railways JSC Erol Arykan, representatives of the Turkish Embassy in Uzbekistan, and heads of transportation companies Urta Osie Trans JSC and Silk Road International JV LLC.
In particular, the parties discussed the establishment of multimodal transportation along the route Turkey - Georgia - Azerbaijan - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan - China, read the message.
They also noted the importance of taking comprehensive measures to develop the international transport system, which will have a significant impact on the growth of the economies of the countries involved, read the message.
In addition, the parties considered proposals for organizing an Uzbek-Turkish business forum, during which entrepreneurs from the two countries could effectively exchange information, establish new contacts, and work on the development of new projects.
An agreement was also reached on close cooperation in this direction, the message said.
