Azerbaijan begins developing unique brand of honey for export

Azerbaijan has begun developing a unique brand of honey intended for export, Badraddin Hasratov, head of the Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association, told Trend.
He said that it is a blend of nine varieties of honey in a single sample, which are produced in nine climatic zones of Azerbaijan.
"This is a kind of unique honey brand, and customers in Europe got interested in it," he said. "Samples of a new type of product have been requested in Germany. Recently, we have already held negotiations with German partners for the second time, and we plan to ship the first cargo of a new product sample by the end of this year."
He added that the new brand will be developed on the basis of premium honey varieties.
He said that there are 20,000 beekeepers in Azerbaijan, 10,000 of which are members of the Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association.
