Major Iranian companies produce 19.7 million tons of iron ore concentrate

Major Iranian companies produced 19.7 million tons of iron ore concentrate during the five months (March 21 - August 22) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Trend reports referring to the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, production of large Iranian companies increased by 4 percent in five months compared to the same period last year, when this figure stood at 18.9 million tons.

Some 6.74 million tons of iron ore concentrates were produced by the Gol-E-Gohar Iron Ore Company, 4.26 million tons produced by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company, 2.12 million tons by Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, 2.1 million tons by Iran Central Iron Ore Company, and 1.74 million tons by Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company.

Furthermore, 1.25 million tons of iron ore concentrates were produced by Opal Persian Sangan Industrial & Mining Company, 905,000 tons by National Industrial and Mineral Development Company (NIMIDCO), 361,000 tons by Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development, and 218,000 tons by Jalalabad Iron Ore Complex.

During this period, five major mining companies produced about 2.02 million tons of iron ore pellets, which indicates a 40-percent decrease compared to the previous year (3.35 million tons).

Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex produced 412,000 tons, Sangan Iron Ore Complex produced 247,000 tons, Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development - 885,000 tons, Iran Central Iron Ore Company - 289,000 tons, and Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company produced 187,000 tons.
