Output of finished metal products grows by over 80% in Azerbaijan

In January-August 2019, the volume of production in the metallurgical industry in Azerbaijan amounted to 339.5 million manats, decreasing by 16.1 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.

The production of finished metal products increased by 80.1 percent, amounting to 156.6 million manats, and accordingly, the overall growth in the industry increased by 32 percent, amounting to 496.1 million manats.

In total, in January-August this year, 226,200 tons of steel were smelted in Azerbaijan (a decrease by 18.6 percent). Furthermore, 200,800 tons of fittings (a decrease by 5.6 percent), 22,200 tons of steel pipes (a decrease of 37.5 percent) and 5,700 tons of wire rod (an increase of 32.9 percent), 439.6 tons of rods, shafts and profiles (a decrease of 3.6 percent) were produced.

The production of primary alloys of raw aluminum decreased by 7.9 percent to 24,200 tons.

Prefabricated building constructions made of ferrous metals worth 17.9 million manats were produced (an increase of 76.9 percent), 15,600 tons of other structures made of ferrous metals were produced (an increase of 3.1 times). The production of flexible wires, cables and bare cables made of copper amounted to 2,950 tons, showing a decline of more than two times.
