Another terminal to be built in Samarkand airport of Uzbekistan

To develop and improve service at Samarkand Airport in Uzbekistan, a new terminal will be built, the runway will be reconstructed, aircraft hangars will be expanded and the radar system will be improved in 2019-2020, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.

According to the plan, new coverage will also be laid. After the implementation of these projects, the airport will be able to serve 600 both passengers per hour.

Once the airport takes on a modern look, its throughput will increase to more than 20 flights per day.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to modernize the airport in accordance with modern requirements of Samarkand during his visit to the region in late August 2019.

The President also instructed to develop the service sector and implement new projects to attract tourist flows to the region.
