Turkmenistan was among stable importers of Kazakhstan’s grain in January-July 2019, Trend reports referring to Kazakhstan’s LS news agency.
During the reporting period, Turkmenistan purchased 176,300 tons worth $33.4 million.
In total, the export of wheat and meslin (a mixture of wheat and rye) from Kazakhstan amounted to 3.3 million tons in January-July 2019. The biggest volume of grain was shipped to Uzbekistan - 1.3 million tons worth $608.4 million.
During the previous years, Turkmenistan was buying less than 40,000 tons of wheat a year in Kazakhstan.
