Turkmenistan modernizes fiber-optic communication line with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

Specialists from Turkmenistan’s Turkmen Telecom State Telecommunications Company are modernizing the Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan fiber-optic communication lines, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen government.

The matter was touched upon during a working meeting of the Turkmen government. Fiber-optic communication lines are also being modernized in Iran and Afghanistan, which will serve to greatly increase telecommunication throughput, as noted in the report of the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary (TDH) state news agency.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also drew attention to the importance of laying the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) fiber optic link. It is necessary to carry out large-scale work aimed at improving the quality of Internet services, which will significantly improve the exchange of international information and introduce new types of electronic services.

There is also a need for creating a national data center for storing and processing data and connecting subscribers to Internet channels, the words of the head of state are given in the message.

The trunk fiber-optic communication lines are based on the technology of dense wave multiplexing (DWDM).
