As part of a project being implemented with the financial support of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO) and the assistance of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, there are plans to open a travel agency in one of the country’s regions, Head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan Sakina Babayeva told Trend.
She said that there are plans to create a travel agency in Azerbaijan’s Tovuz district.
“The cost of the project is 120,000 manats,” she added. “The Association and SECO each will provide 50 percent of the financial resources. The launch of the new travel agency is scheduled for December this year and it will allow to create 15-20 permanent jobs.”
Babayeva noted that the opening of the new facility is aimed at attracting foreign tourists and developing tourism industry in the regions of Azerbaijan.
“At the same time, this project is being implemented through women’s entrepreneurship, which has been developing dynamically in Azerbaijan over the past 2-3 years,” she added.
According to statistical data, over 143,000 women are employed in the sphere of business in Azerbaijan.
The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established in October 2017 with the support of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
