Loans worth $7M allocated for nomads in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province

This Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), loans worth 295 billion rials (about $7 million) have been allocated for nomads in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province, said Ali Bahadori, the head of West Azerbaijan province Main Department for Nomad Affairs, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said that 245 billion rials of this amount (about $5.8 million) constitute working capital and are paid at a rate of 10 percent per annum.

He added that 49.6 billion rials (about $1.18 million) should be repaid in five years at 4-percent interest rate.

There are 15,600 families of nomads with the total population of 104,000 people living in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province. The province has an area of ​​2.67 million hectares, and 1.6 million hectares of this province account for nomads' territory.
