77.97 million tons of cargo loaded & unloaded at Iranian ports

As many as 77.97 million tons of cargo have been loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports since the beginning of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Trend reports referring to the website of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

The volume of loaded and unloaded cargo increased by 4.2 percent compared to the same period last year (74.80 million tons).

The cargo has been loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in Abadan, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Jask, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shadeed Bahonar, Shaheed Rajaee, Fereydunkenar, Qeshm, Genaveh, Bandar Lengeh and Neka cities.

During the reporting period, 23.75 million tons of oil were loaded and unloaded. This indicates a 3.5 percent decrease compared to the same period last year (24.60 million tons).

During the same period, the volume of TEU container freight was 0.87 million tons. Compared to the same period last year (1.31 million tons), this is a decrease by 33.8 percent.

The volume of other container freight was 10.43 million tons. This is an 18.3 percent decrease compared to the same period last year (12.76 million tons).

The general cargo volume was 10.09 million tons. Compared to the same period last year (10.46 million tons), this is a 5.2 percent decrease.

The volume of dry bulk cargo was 30.77 million tons. This is an increase of 28.4 percent compared to the same period last year (23.96 million tons).

The volume of liquid bulk cargo was 2.94 million tons. This is a 3.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year (2.84 million tons).
