Uzbekistan and Japanese company Itochu are discussing the possibility of expanding the production of new cars, as was announced during the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan to Japan, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
"With Itochu, we worked out mechanisms to strengthen the company's presence on the Uzbek market by increasing production volumes and the level of localization of components and parts in order to meet the needs of the domestic market and export to the markets of third countries," the Ministry of Foreign Trade said in a statement.
The Japanese side also took with interest the proposal to develop new segments of automotive products and, moreover, to diversify their activities, covering the textile, chemical, mining and food industries.
