The volume of coal loading in Kazakhstan decreased by eight percent in September compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ, Kazakhstan Railways).

According to the information, the volume of loading via the network of KTZ amounted to over 22 million tons of cargo during the reporting period, including 8.5 million tons of hard coal, 700,000 tons of grain and over 200,000 tons of grinding products.

Furthermore, the decrease in coal was due to the lack of applications from shippers for loading municipal coal for the needs of the population and the country's heat and power plants.

At the same time, loading of flour and grinding products Kazakhstan increased by almost 32 percent compared to last year's indicators, and amounted to 81,000 tons during the reporting period. Construction cargo loading equaled 2.26 million tons, which is an increase by 15 percent compared to September 2018.

Overall, the volume of cargo transport via the network of KTZ exceeded 187 tons during first nine months of 2019. In particular, the volume of coal transport was 73.5 million tons, including over 50 million tons within the country.

Loading of grain amounted to seven million tons since the beginning of the year, some 2.3 million of which account for transport within the country, which is 26.6 percent more than during nine months of last year. Some 1.8 million tons of grinding products were also loaded, which is 3.5 percent more than last year.
