Kazakhstan to build its own Disneyland

Kazakhstan is looking to build its own indoor amusement park, similar to Disneyland, in Nur-Sultan, Head of Department for Investments and Entrepreneurship Development of Nur‑Sultan Erlan Bekmurzaev, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

Bekmurzaev made the statement during a press conference held within the framework of 8th United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Global Summit held in Nur-Sultan.

According to Bekmurzaev, capital’s authorities are currently looking of an investor.

“Currently we are in the process of selecting an area of land for the project. It needs necessary infrastructure, water and electricity. In my opinion, we will be able to allocate land and select investors very soon,” he said.

He added, that authorities are planning on construction of an indoor park as it’ll allow for it to operate all year round.

“The park will most likely be indoor so it is able to operate year round since our weather is very difference from weather in Kyzylorda or Shymkent. We most create all conditions for investor to be interested,” Bekmurzaev said.

He also noted that currently tourists on average stay in the city for day and a half during the visits, and the goal of authorities is to increase this indicator to three days.
