Iran intends to expand cooperation with different countries and turn the restrictions of the sanctions into an opportunity to boost non-oil production and exports, Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said.

“Decreasing the reliance on oil revenues and diversifying foreign exchange earnings are important policy issues in the country,” Abdul Nasser Hemmati wrote on his Instagram page, Trend reports.

The central bank governor said that two important issues were raised during the cabinet meeting a day before including improving business climate and stabilizing export regulations.

"Avoiding issuing directives to prohibit exports, identifying export target countries, determining the share of each export commodity in the export basket, and setting a 5-year plan for our country are among the most important issues to be considered," the CBI governor noted.

"Thus, while expanding relations with other countries, we should seriously try to turn the sanction restrictions into an opportunity to boost non-oil sector," Hemmati said.
